Frequently asked questions
A: YES! We are a participating provider for Tricare, Medicare, Humana, and BCBS NC beneficiaries and can file your medical claim for you.
If you are a Medicare or Tricare Prime member, a referral from your doctor or PCM is required for coverage.
We are a non network, participating provider for all other insurance companies (UHC, Aetna, Cigna, etc) and can provide you the right documentation to get you coverage.
We encourage patients to know their coverage, oftentimes it can be similar coverage to in network benefits.
A: No! North Carolina is a direct access state therefore you have direct access to the physical therapy care you deserve and want! The exception to this rule is if you would like to bill your insurance provider for coverage of PT services. Medicare and Tricare Prime policies do require a referral as well as some commercial payers. It is best to call your policy first to find out!
A: Like a traditional Physical Therapy session, you will begin by simply talking about your pain, concerns, questions, etc. Next, a thorough external orthopedic exam is performed. This looks at hips, spine, posture, strength, movement, and more. IF an internal exam is warranted, your PT will explain what this entails in detail prior to. An internal exam is never required, though often it is a very accurate way for your PT to gather information about your condition.
A: We offer a boutique style PT experience. We strive to make your experience private, comfortable, and tailored to meet your needs as a whole individual, not just a body part! Your therapist will have time to check in with you between sessions and offer you more time at each session to allow for better, more comprehensive care. We treat each patient one on one for 45 to 60 minutes or more if needed! We do also offer telehealth appointments to allow options in treatment if you are unable to make it to the clinic.
A: You should schedule an appointment as soon as you feel up to it. We recommend waiting at least 4 weeks; however, if you are experiencing pain or difficulty caring for yourself or your child, come sooner! You do not necessarily need to wait until your follow up with your OB unless your pregnancy or delivery was very complex. We are trained to know about healing time, safety, and what can and can’t be done in the immediate postpartum time.
A: Absolutely! We want you to feel supported as a parent and understand childcare isn’t always immediately available.
A: YES! All of our staff PT’s are more than qualified to treat orthopedic conditions such as joint pain, recovery from surgery such as a joint replacement, or difficulty returning to sport or activity.
